You can apply for A Place for Sport - Crowdfunder on our new grants and funding portal. You will need to create an account on the new portal before you can apply.
Who can apply
Not-for-profit sports clubs and community groups can apply.
To apply, your project must:
- have a fundraising page on Crowdfunder
- be for internal or external facilities or modernisation works
- benefit people living in Wales
- involve the local community in its development and delivery
You can find full eligibility criteria on the Crowdfunder website.
Projects and funding
Examples of projects include:
- fixing or upgrading changing rooms, toilets, or showers
- renovating your clubhouse
- improving kitchen or bar areas
- adding bike racks or storage
- making your space more accessible, with ramps or lifts
- fixing fences or adding stands and seating
- buying scoreboards or video equipment
- pitch maintenance tools
You must set up a fundraising page on the Crowdfunder website for your project. Their website provides help on how to set up your page. Including advice on rewards you can offer to people for their donations.
To get contributions to your crowdfunder from us, you must:
- raise at least 25% of your total target
- get donations from a minimum number of supporters – this number varies depending on your target
- reach your target by a set deadline
If you achieve these goals, we will give you 50% of your total, up to £15,000. This can rise to 60% of your total if your project is either:
- targeting under-represented groups
- in a high-deprivation area, based on the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation
Use our crowdfunder calculator to see:
- what you need to raise
